CHARLES L. STANLEY, CFP®, ChFC®, AIF®, CKA®PARTNER, FINANCIAL PLANNER SAN DIEGO, CA
A FINANCIAL PLANNER WITH DIVERSE EXPERIENCE
Charles Stanley specializes in managing trust-owned assets with care and expertise. For over 28 years, Charles has helped retired physicians, business owners, corporate executives, retirees, and widows with their estate planning, tax strategies, risk management, investment selection, business succession, and retirement planning. His clients aren’t just professional priorities; they’re his friends. Charles has dedicated considerable time to accruing the qualifications to serve his clients at the highest level. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Certified Kingdom Advisor, and holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation.
A strong calling in faith led Charles to dedicate 20 years of service to the Christian ministry. After transitioning into the financial world, he spent four years as a corporate executive, then moved exclusively into personal financial planning. He has been involved actively with the local financial community, serving multiple years on the Board of the San Diego Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and as a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
Charles attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, Friends University, and graduated with honors from LIFE Pacific College in San Dimas, CA. He obtained his Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College and earned the AIF professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, Charles has received formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility.
Charles loves to share financial know-how with broad audiences and is co-author of T.A.S.K. (The Trusted Advisors Survival Kit), published by LexisNexis. He has published an e-book, Forewarned is Forearmed: How to Make an Annuity Purchase (or not) You Will Never Regret, and was also a contributing author on How To Manage a Million Dollars Or Less. Charles has been quoted or published in the Journal of Financial Planning, San Diego Union Tribune, San Diego Daily Transcript, American Funeral Director Magazine, Canadian Funeral Director Magazine, The Bottom Line: Independent Voice for Canada’s Accounting and Financial Professionals, Financial AdvisorPro, The Family Business Advisor, and Christian Businessman Magazine.
You may have caught Charles over the airwaves or in the courtroom: he was a host of Senior Money, a radio talk show heard on KCEO AM 1000, and he has appeared as an Expert Witness in both arbitration cases and civil court cases on matters involving the Uniform Prudent Investor Act.
Outside the office, you may catch Charles on the road with his wife Karen and their delightful (and energetic) Morkie Robin or on the trails in the mountains around Escondido. For those who don’t know, a Morkie is an adorable cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and a Maltese. Charles also enjoys cultivating his faith through leading a group at church and working on his devotional blog, Living Life Successfully: A Devotional Approach to Real Life found at charleslstanley.com.
